Things to do and see around the Scenic Rim

Main Range National Park

Approx 30 kms away

Travel up the scenic Cunningham's gap, to the dominating Main Range mountain peaks.

Explore the World Heritage listed Gondwana rainforests; a home for rare and endangered wildlife and popular destination for bushwalkers.

Access to the spectacular Mt Cordeaux and Mt Mitchell summit tracks start at the Main Range parking lot, at the saddle of Cunningham's gap.

Lake Moogerah

Approx 22 kilometres away

The peaceful blue waters are popular for recreational boating and watersports. There are multiple accesses to the lake, where you will find boating facilities along with a few small swimming areas and parkland with barbecues.

At Haigh Park, you can access the 38m high Moogerah Dam wall and even hike up Mt Edwards from the track starting on the far side of the wall.

Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm

Kooroomba has been created as a unique tourist destination and is the perfect setting for a relaxing trip away. The property consists of a cellar door, the Kooroomba Restaurant and Lavender Gift Shop, which overlooks a six hectare vineyard and breathtaking lavender fields, with magnificent views of the Scenic Rim mountains.

Moogerah Peaks National Park

Approx 30 kms away

Moogerah Peaks comprises of Mount Greville, Edwards, Moon and French.

These mountains are recognisable for their unique shapes and each offers a different experience.

Mount Edwards is favoured for a easier steady climb, which will see you walking through ancient bushland, only to paid off at the Summit with mindblowing views to the North

Mount French is a lower peak, however it features the world famous Frog buttress, renowned for its sheer rock face which draws rock climbers from near and far.


Mount Moon is a lower wooded peak that is rarely traversed by the public.

Finally the most formidable Mount Greville offers a variety of routes to the 720m elevated summit. Depending on your skill, you may choose Waterfall Gorge, Palm Gorge or even the dangerous razorback scramble.

Scenic Rim Brewery

Scenic Rim Brewery and Cafe is a small family owned Australian brewery. Enjoy a selection of craft Beer which is all brewed on site, the cafe serves food inspired by the owners Dutch heritage, coffee, cakes and fresh baked scones are also available. Come on in and meet the locals.

Visit Aratula

The township of Aratula is located along the Cunningham highway at the foot of Cunningham's Gap.
As the last stop before the mountains, it has become an important waystop for all hungry travellers. 
On weekends it bustles, as tourists and locals line up for the Arthur Clive Bakehouse (est 1956), cafes, fruit shop and even the amazing service station hot food!
As the closest facilities to Benbullen, it is a convenient place for our visitors to meet up, fuel up and get last minute supplies!

The town of Kalbar in the fertile Fassifern Valley, is a fast growing hub with a rich German history!

This past is reflected in many historic sites including heritage-listed buildings of the Wiss Emporium (above right) and Wiss House, cafes and art galleries.
Kalbar is also iconic for the famous "Kalbar Sunflower Festival" held each March - April.
Be sure to mark this in your calendar, to explore the sunflower maze, enjoy paint and sip experiences or even a helicopter ride...
